I want to share my experience creating a game in Unity. I came into this not knowing a single thing about programming a game, and with the help of many tutorials, I was able to produce a playable game that is currently being hosted here: https://hoopla221.itch.io/test

The name of the game is called Space Cat, and I was took the role of the programmer in this game. I worked with a classmate of mine who took the role of being the artist. My role was to implement all the different mechanics and features that our group talked about and utilize the assets that the artist would produce. This resulted in a fairly basic game that has the mechanics of player movement, jumping, and shooting.

When it finally came down to showing off the progress that we have made in our game, I would say that players responded fairly well given the unfinished state of the game. I got a ton of well written feedback stating that this is a solid foundation for a potentially fun game. Given the feedback, I think the most important feature that has not been implemented is the health bar, and the variety of enemies. These two things are being addressed and should clarify the game a bit better.
